Work on the Heritage Lottery Funded project to restore the historic ha-ha wall around St Andrew’s Church in Great Billing has now been largely completed. The ancient wrought iron gates to the Church are now being restored and when they are re-hung the adjoining part of the wall will be completed and the job finished. The Council has received many compliments from local residents during the undertaking of this significant project.
The next part of this project, an oral history of the Parish, is now underway, whereby members of the local Women’s Institutes will visit residents having memories of earlier times in the Parish, and record these reminiscences for posterity. If you have memories of growing-up or working in the Parish, or have knowledge of times and characters gone by, perhaps from a parent or grand-parent, please contact the Project Manager, John Marlow on 404678, or email Sue Harris the Parish Clerk on firstname.lastname@example.org so that your contribution can be included.
